The Sacrament of Anointing strengthens the individual, body and soul, when dealing with serious illness. One may receive this Sacrament at the onset of serious illness or before a serious surgery. It is encouraged that those who are elderly (75 or older) receive the Sacrament at least once throughout the year even if they may not have a serious illness. If there is a serious change in condition, one may receive the Sacrament again.

Last Rites: Coupled with the Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick, Last Rites are given at the time proximate to dying. Family are to call upon a priest to administer these Sacraments when a loved one is nearing death. The Sacrament cannot be given after a period of 1/2 hour after death, to which it is understood the soul has left the body. PLEASE call a priest when death is near, do not wait. Our parish has an Emergency line: 636-584-5219. This is an important ministry, do not hesitate…

Happily a priest will come and pray with the individual or family during any illness. Call the rectory at 636-583-5144 to set an appointment.
